I remember this gentleman as a genuine friend. I started work for the UofM carpentry shop in 1968 and worked on jobs with Johnny and later his brother Tony. I did some work for Johnny and Phillis at their home where we had lunch together' and shared pleasant conversation.

My thoughts and prayers for your family. My heart was crushed to see the other day at 5:30 am during my morning run the curtains of the front window open and I knew something changed. I run every morning by your dads house and on weekends when the curtains were open could see him reading the paper hoping he would look up and I would wave to him. To the family of my friend Johnny Wenzel;
I worked with Johnny and Tony in the Uof M skilled trades. I'm a carpenter along with many other people of the trades plumbers, electricians, painters, laborers, sheet metal who worked with Johnny on many projects, at work and side work.
