Not sure what to say?

Mr. Whitcomb will be missed by all. He was truly an educator, a faithful friend, and a family man. His sense of humor and dedication to life will be with us forever. God Bless

Mr.Whitcomb was the inspiration to me while at CEHS to become a Social Studies teacher ending my career after 40 years at So. Portland High where I also served as Department Head for 8 years.

Mr. Whitcomb's four years in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, coincided with my four years in high school there. He was all one could ask for in a teacher; firm in his expectations, truly democratic in his dealings with us, and his humor told us he loved his work and that we were worthy of his efforts. He was a gift.

Mr. Whitcomb was the best History teacher that Bristol Eastern had.
The years between 1963-1966, it was always a pleasure going to his class. He will be missed by all.
May God Bless.

Mr.Whitcomb was the best teacher that I ever had. The memory of his humor, easy smile, animated stories and love of his profession will be with me forever. I feel blessed to have known him.

Mr. Whitcomb was the happiest person ever knew. He was a great inspiration as a teacher and a delightful neighbor while I was growing up. I will always remember the mornings during school when those of us who missed the bus, would jog down to his house to jump into his station wagon for a lift to school. May God Bless bless him and keep him in His care forever.

I am truly sorry for your loss. John was both my coach and teacher. He was a friend to all who knew him. This is a loss for the people of Bristol. Rest assured that he is in a far better place now.

To the best teacher I ever had and a great friend to the family, you will be missed.

Our heartfelt sympathies in this, your time of grief.
