John D. Whitelaw

In the 1980s I met John while I was on a cruise with my parents somewhere in Europe. He gave my sister and I a caesar salad dressing recipe. It's now 40+ years later and I've been making that salad dressing all those years and still do. I remember him as a kind, engaging and gracious man.

I remember John from kindergarten, and throughout elementary and high school where we had many classes together. As a Tiburon person, I will hold John in my heart forever. He was a loving artist with great soul.

I have known John for over 30 yrs. We were very close. I will miss his ready wit, enticing laugh and listening to him play his bass. Farewell my friend....til we meet again.

i met john in 1963,was a part of his first band and always revered john as an exceptional person. he always lit up any room he entered.i will always miss him..he was a good friend that made my life better for knowing him..

As one of John's high school classmates, I was extremely sorry to hear this news. His passing is such a loss to the arts, as well as to his family and friends, all of whom have my deep sympathy.

I wish I could have seen him one more time.

John was truly an original. He touch my life in many ways. I will miss him. I send my thoughts and prayers to his family.
