John at Kate Gould Park, July 2018

John was a confident and commendable musician who will be sorely missed by the Chatham Band. He always had a smile for everyone as he climbed the steps of the Bandstand on Friday nights. I feel lucky to have known him. My heart goes out to Christal and the entire family. Anita Harris, Chatham Band Manager

We are so grateful to have known John; our friend, our Commodore and the shared love of music. Our most heartfelt condolences to Christal, John, Sandy and their families.

Those who pass on God Keeps in his memory because he cares for them. Sorry for your loss.

We were friends and for 2 hours each week, we were brothers as euphonium players. His music and the music of his life continue to be an inspiration to me. My condolences to Christal and family for your loss.

John's quiet and witty nature will, I'm sure, leave a hole that will not be easily filled. I know the music world will miss your talented contributions. so sorry for your loss, Christal and family.
