When I joined the faculty at CU over 30 years ago, Jay introduced my to Rocky Mountain fly fishing. Among the high points was a trip to the Green River at Flaming Gorge where we camped and caught (and released) some of the most beautiful trout I'd ever seen. Jay was a great friend, environmentalist, & teacher. It was a privilege to have known him.
