Not sure what to say?

I knew John from his first year at UofM. Robyn met him later at forestry camp and we both always liked him very much. We were very sorry to hear of his death.... way too young.

This is a perfect time to remember and honor my mentor John Witter. I am at the annual conference of the Ecological Society of America, and as I stroll through the presentations, I am reminded of the great influence that John had on me and my academic career. John, you will always be in my thoughts.

I will always be grateful to John Witter for giving me the opportunity to do my PhD at UM. I am sad that he was not able to see my accomplishments, especially because he was such an important mentor to me. Thanks John!

My condolences to the family. I took John's entomology course in the early eighties. I never think about the school of natural resources without thinking of John. In fact almost every time I encounter an insect I think of John. He was so enthusiastic particularly when he'd get on a roll about the white pine spittle bug.... So friendly, so engaging. One of my favorites at Michigan. John M. Price BSF 1982

John was part of my doctoral comittee from 1993 to 1998. He always gave me support and made me feel confident. My condolences to Jennifer and Leslie.

I was so sad to hear about John's passing. He was my advisor and mentor during my PhD program at the University of Michigan and would be forever grateful for his mentorship and support. Just last week I began inquiring about him and was trying to get his contact information because I was wondering how he was doing. I know that he had health issues and wanted to say hi and offer my support. Unfortunately I did not do this earlier, something I regret. Nonetheless, I want Jennifer and the rest...
