Not sure what to say?

It was an honor to know John both during my days at TCU and in the Ft. Worth Symphony, playing bassoon with him in the Faculty Woodwind Quintet and all kinds of concerts in 1973-74. I will always remember and appreciate him, along with other wonderful music friends in Ft. Worth during that time.

Harriet, I just learned of John's passing. We are so sorry; John was a highly interesting guest at Mom and Dad's home in Kirkwood, Missouri through the decades. We loved hearing about his knowledge of history, music, and his travels. We are waiting for a gentler time to let Dad (Miles Markusch) know of his good friend from U of WI's passing. Our mom and Dad's wife of 60 years, Dolly, just passed away October 27, 2013. We're having a memorial service Sat., Nov 30, 2013 in Kirkwood. You are...

JoAnn and I extend our sympathy to Harriet, the children and grand-children. John was a good friend and colleague in music.

Harriet,
I was so sorry to hear about your loss. Karla and I will keep you and John in our prayers.

Dear Harriet and Family,
I was there with you, and shared in your loss. Prayers for all of us in losing John as family or friend. I'm so very glad I was able to be with all of you to share memories of the many years we spent together. John was one of a kind, and will truly be missed.

Harriet,
I have such fond memories of conversations with John. His encouragement to go to college is exactly why I went. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
Thanks for the talks.

God bless you and your family during this sad time. Linda Johnson

Harriet, Nancy and I are thinking of you and John at this difficult time. It was so interesting to read the obituary, we know you and John had a varied and interesting life, and that must be a comfort to you. We have moved to the mountains, an adventure for us, but it was fun to read of the adventures of another wonderful couple. I always appreciated John`s comments after concerts. Steve and Nancy Weger
