Not sure what to say?

I was sad to hear just today of John's passing. I attended Belzoni High School with John, Mary Lee, Ruby, and Nancy and remember fondly how nice, friendly and smart they were.
I was very impressed that John would be attending college at Stanford, and I remember him well.
I know his family must be very proud of him, his life, and his accomplishments.

I first met John in Cleveland, MS some 50 + years ago. I was visiting there as city–boy-comes-to-country, and was invited to “go riding” with my cousins after their work (helping in the store) was done. I do remember that John came across as a soft-spoken, polite, and intelligent young man. What I didn’t know that our “ride” was actually to see who had the better car, young John’s Buick Super or Uncle John’s new Buick Roadmaster.

Who would have known that these bright young men would...

All the Woos grew up with me in Belzoni and I graduated from Belzoni HS with Ruby and Nancy; John and Mary Lee being a few years ahead of us. I always admired John for his intellect and his friendliness. I was so proud when he left for Stanford. That helped me set a goal for myself: to learn everything I could, to read everybook I could and to strive for perfection and a better life. I think I did those things and I hold John, Mary Lee, Ruby and Nancy as role models in my life. They are...

To all of John's family, Roger and I share your loss. I hope that our fondness for John, admiration for all his talent, and knowing how many good friends were in his life will help and comfort you at this time.

I knew John since high school days in MS and attending Stanford together. John had a car! and we drove from home to school every year and a few times at Xmas. We had lots of laughs. John was always the optimist and had quite a sense of humor. The last I saw John was at...

I was very saddened to hear of John's passing from my childhood friend, Ruby Chen, John's sister.I have memories playing with Ruby and her sister Nancy but knew Jonn as an older brother and they were a very smart family. Our condolences to the family for their great loss.

My sympathies go out to the Woo family. I vaguely remember him when I was a child growing up in the delta. My parents were close friends of the family and I am always deeply saddened when I hear of the death of any MS Delta Chinese. May his star continue to shine through the Heavens.

I met John for the first time at Boy's State, Brandon near Jackson, MS. Talking to him I knew John was a "smart Chinese" since he was planning to attend Stanford. The rest is history. We'll missed you. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Woo's families.

John was a good friend of mine growing up in the Miss. Delta. I remembered him to be highly intellectual and an inventor. In the late 1970s when I was on a business trip to Huntsville for Rockwell Int'l, he showed me his patent on an electronic ruler with a calculator. A few years later, a company in Japan produced a ruler similar to John's design. My deepest sympathy goes to his wife, June and his family.

As a child, my family often visited John's family in Belzona, Miss. I remember him well. Although, I'd lost touch with him and his sisters, I have very fond memories of those visits. My prayers go out to his family.
