John Wood was an artist of the most serious sort while often utilizing wit and surprise. He showed us a lot about how to pay attention, be economical in speech and thought, and how courage can be quiet and humble. It is a gift to have known him for these 10 years in Baltimore as a neighbor, friend, and indeed mentor.
