Not sure what to say?

We are so sorry for your loss. We will miss John's smiling face in the mountains. Jesse and I have many fond memories of hunting groundhogs on your property. We thank John for his generosity and we will be thinking of you all.

What a legacy. He will be greatly missed in Alleghany County. We will be forever grateful for all he did for our students and the community at large. We pray God's comfort for the Woodruff family.

I met Mr. Woodruff at the awards ceremony at Alleghany High School last spring. He was an individual who sincerely cared about education and the students of Alleghany County. Over the past couple of days there have been many stories of how Mr. Woodruff helped or encouraged a student to further their education. I'm sure this senior class and the classes to follow will still get that same help and encouragement from Mr. Woodruff. My family’s thoughts and prayers are with the family in this...

You are in my thoughts and prayers, I have not seen the family in many years, but I remember you all very well.

I did not know Mr. Woodruff personally, but I can honestly say that I have heard nothing but exceptional things about this man. He has truly "preached his own funeral". I know that he will be sorely missed in the Alleghany community, and I certainly hate that I never got the chance to meet this outstanding hero from Alleghany. May God richly bless each and everyone of his family members. My prayers are with you at this greivous time.

Jay, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Please do not hesitate to call me if you or your mom need ANYTHING at all!

Mr. John Woodruff taught much more than ABC's and 123's - he taught a whole community the worth of its people. We are forever grateful however saddened with his passing.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.
