I met Mr. Woodruff at the awards ceremony at Alleghany High School last spring. He was an individual who sincerely cared about education and the students of Alleghany County. Over the past couple of days there have been many stories of how Mr. Woodruff helped or encouraged a student to further their education. I did not know Mr. Woodruff personally, but I can honestly say that I have heard nothing but exceptional things about this man. He has truly "preached his own funeral". I know that he will be sorely missed in the Alleghany community, and I certainly hate that I never got the chance to meet this outstanding hero from Alleghany.
