Mr.
Howard was a great adopted grandfather, friend and Christian brother.
He meant a lot to me and so many others. It's funny how a Yankee girl
and a Southern guy could become such great friends! Of course we were
constantly teasing each other about our accents. At church he would
always invite me and my family to what he called "The eatin meetins".
Speaking of food, he made the best coleslaw I've ever tasted! I also
liked his pimento cheese sandwiches, and his delicious...

Shirley & family: My thoughts & prayers are with you now. You and Howard have been such a devoted, loyal & inspirational couple in our family. It's a shame these temporary departures must happen.

As I told you on the phone, I know there's a great family reunion occurring in heaven today. I'm sure that my father is all settled in by now and has learned the "Welcome Home" routine in time for Howard.
