Not sure what to say?

I MISS YOU, PAPA!!
Love Always,
Donetta

I joined the Police Dept. in 1957 and went directly to 3rd. Det. I met John there and learned so much from him. I rode Cycle Escorts with him,and Worked at Joyland as security part time with him( as many of us had to). He was a hard act to follow and will be missed.

Robin, I just want you to know how special you are to me. Grandpa was a great and loving man. he use to tell Kim and I "sleep well tonight girls, grandpa is watching" and now I'm going to tell you "sleep well tonight sweets, daddy is watching". I love you and I miss him.

Dear Robin, Carla, Faye & Family,
Sorry to hear about your father. Sounds like he was a great guy, and I know he will be missed. Cherish your memories. Robin haven't seen you for a long time, your the sweetest. Carla, would love to hear from you, its been a long time ago at RHHS. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.
Sincerely, Shelly Cox Bates

I have known John since I was a very small girl. I stayed with him and his family in Rose Hill when my mother had surgery, and he made it a point to keep me cheered up. I found him again when he lived in Toronto next to my sister Robi, and was very delighted! I would go visit and make him cookies, and play bingo because he called the numbers. He was a wonderful caring man that I know will me missed by so many. Heaven has been blessed with another Angel. My thoughts are with his family.

I never knew John, but his son Dave is a good friend of mine. In the brotherhood of policemen, we all lose a little from the loss of one. It sounds like John was a great cop. My condolences to the family.

I made friends with John when I was seventeen. It was at Hugo's Harley Davidson. John rode funeral escorts then on his days off from the Police Department. He was the nicest guy. I will miss him.

I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH AND FOR ONE OF THE BEST POLICEMEN THE WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT EVER HAD.WHILE ON THIRD DETAIL, ONE NIGHT I WAS TALKING TO JOHN, AND IN THE MIDDLE OF A SENTENCE, HE BROKE IN AND SAID,"I'LL BE BACK IN A LITTLE BIT." ABOUT THREE MINUTES LATER, HE CAME ON THE RADIO AND SAID,"I HAVE ONE IN THE BUILDING 1700 N. BROADWAY, AT THE TIRE STORE." THIS WAS ONLY ONE OF THE MANY TIMES HE DID SOMETHING LIKE THIS. HE WAS A "NATURAL". "SO LONG JOHN."

We are so sorry to hear bout John.We had alot of fun living next door to John in town. I have known John since i was a little girl an was very happy to find him again in Toronto. In the 10 years we lived by him I never fixed a fish or deer dinner without haveing John eat with us.I can not say how sorry we are to have lost a wonderful man.God be with the family
