Dr. Y was my surgeon when I had my appendix removed at St. Joe's in Pontiac in 1959. He was wonderful and I have never forgotten him all these many years later. It was great to read about his illustrious life. RIP.

He took me under his wing when I was a young man and gave me direction and honor. I have never forgotten the few years that he touched my life. I watched the Movie "Second hand lions" i thought of Dr Ylvisaker and the enormous life he lived. He was so modest but a movie should be made of this great man.His legacy in his sons Jeff and Jon carried his integrity with them. I did not meet his daughter. God Bless
