John Francis Yoder, 76, of Longmont, CO died January 10, 2014 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born February 9, 1937 in Farmington, New Mexico to Ralph and Aly (Hardgrave) Yoder.
John joined the United States Marine Corp and served from 1955-1958. On August 20, 1960, he married Judith Evelyn Pease in Winnetka, IL. John and Evelyn lived in Albuquerque for a time and then moved to Mays Landing, NJ. They moved to the Longmont area in 1978.
John graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1970 with a bachelors degree in business and was employed by the Federal Aviation Agency as a computer specialist, retiring at the age of 55. Following his retirement he started working with Evelyn in her antiques and collectibles business.
John was active at United Church of Christ Longmont. He was also active in the Golden Glow of Christmas Past. He loved spending time with his family, especially his twin granddaughters who blessed him by insisting on a group hug the last time they saw him.
John is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Vandy Lyn, brother James Yoder and sister Molly Litten.
John is survived by his wife Evelyn, sons Chris (Christi) Yoder and Matt Yoder, twin granddaughters Annaliese and Elena, along with cousins and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 20th at 11:00 AM at United Church of Christ Longmont (First Congregational). Memorial contributions can be made to the Longmont Humane Society, the O.U.R. Center, United Church of Christ Longmont, or a charity of choice and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
