When summer comes around, I think of John the most (even though we worked daily together for many years & I actually trained him) No one can throw a party, like John. I will never see a croquet set without remembering those parties! Miss you, John!

John was an incredible man, he will be missed by all! My condolences to Steve and John's family. I have many fond memories of his fabulous parties.

I met John about 20 years ago. I was an HIV case manager. His
pharmacy was across the street from my clinic. We quickly became a team. I sent clients to him and he to me. The clients were so happy to meet him. He always made them feel so welcome and supported. When there were issues with insurance, John made sure they got their meds no matter. Sometimes at his expense.

John also became a dear friend. We had so much fun together. Telephone happy hours (talking on the phone...

John was such a constant in a sea of chaos. He was always calm and thoughtful, being genuinely interested in each person as an individual, worthy of dignity and respect.
John Young also knew how to have a good time! I’ll always remember John’s parties, his outsized personality, and his unwavering friendship. To have known John through so many phases of his life, from Cowboy to retired, it’s just incredibly sad to have lost this kind soul. It’s comforting that John had Steve not just at...

John was a hero to those of us who work in the HIV care community. He was committed to his work, and he was a fierce advocate for the people he served. John was dedicated, and kind, and compassionate, and really funny. He was a bright light in the world, and we will all miss him. To Steven, thanks for sharing him with us; we're all better for it.

He was a great friend.kind and generous man.met in Eugene and then lived close in Portland. I followed all his accomplishment and was honored to be a friend.He will greatly missed.

Only met him couple times but I could see how he touched hearts! His sister Jerianne introduced us...he opened his home for the Oscars...red carpet and all. The food was wonderful!!!!
