I met John in high school. He tried to teach me how to surf. In those days, the only boards were long boards and they were heavy.
He married Carol, my best friend. I got to visit them when John was stationed in Kansas.
I hadn't seen him in years. We ran into each other in Ramona several years back. He was still larger than life.
RIP my friend.

Tara - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. There will never be anyone like your Dad again. He was a 'one of a kind' spirit. I know his loss weighs heavy on your heart, but I hope hearing all these lovely stories helps you know that he was loved by many.
