Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Zufall, John R., passed away surrounded by family, Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Beloved husband of Carolyn Zufall for 61 years; devoted father of Denise (John) Schwartz and Jeff (Amy) Zufall; cherished grandfather of Matthew (Sarah) Zufall, Eric (Britt) Schwartz, Ellen (JT) Miller, Anne Marie (Zach) Pudlowski, Brian Schwartz, and Lauren Zufall; adored great grandfather of Levi, Harper, Ace, Lucy, Rosalie, and Viviana; dear brother of Virginia Osseck and Joanne Sousan; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

To know John was to love him. He was down to earth and always fair and just. He had a kind heart and was a mentor and great friend. He had a great influence on those whose lives he touched. He was determined to teach instead of providing the answers. John's family was his priority. He enjoyed the pool parties, fish fry's, or any gathering with family and friends. When John wasn't with his family you could find him fishing at the lake or at the golf course. John had a long career in public accounting and financial planning. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

Services: Memorial visitation at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Foundation. Friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

Not sure what to say?

Sincere condolences for the entire Family.
Always, LaVerne Nahn

John was such a sweet loving person his passion for fishing was past down to many family members. His classic fish fry where all the men would huddle around the fryer twenty five filets would come out to be cooked but only about 5 would make it to the table for the rest to eat. He will be missed but never forgotten. Thoughts and prayers to his lovely family.

Love Norman and Sharon

Carolyn & family I am so sorry for your loss of John. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

What a great fishing partner, mentor and someone who was like a 2nd father to me. Pomme De Terre Lake will not be the same without Uncle John. Love Kevin and Dawn.

I was sadden to hear about John’s passing. We worked together for many years in the mortgage business and I always appreciated and valued John’s counsel. I have nothing but fond memories of working with him. My condolences to his family.
