Not sure what to say?

Uncle John always welcomed us into his home with a big smile, hug and a kiss. We could lose hours exploring the gardens in his back yard, and playing with the Christmas village display never failed to lead to new discoveries.

He was very generous with his time, unique gifts, and fun storytelling.

Uncle John was my godfather, also. Growing up, I loved visiting at Christmas and seeing the Christmas village displayed under the tree. His backyard was always interesting to look at, too, and I enjoyed his story about a tree that took root after he threw his apple core in the yard.

I think I still have a couple silver dollars Uncle John gave me. I remember him as always happy and smiling.

My dear Rita and family of John -
My heart breaks for each of you with your loss. Know that you are in my prayers and special thoughts.

Our deepest sympathy...

If my memory serves me correctly, Uncle John was my Godfather. Something in the back of my brain keeps telling me that. I hope that's accurate. The one thing I do remember was getting little cardboard books from Uncle John with dimes/quarters inserted in the slots. I loved those! So much so that I carried the tradition on with my daughter, nephew and children of all of my friends using greeting cards. I remember how special it made me feel as a kid and wanted that to live on with others....

Grandpa~~ you are missed so much already and I hope you know how much you were loved everyday. You will always hold a special place in all our hearts FOREVER. Lots of Love: Kevin, Pam, Eleana & faith
