Cheryl, Matthew, and Family;
We have such fond memories of Johnnny when he would come and pick Matt up when we had the daycare in our home. He was so patient watching Matthew as he would gather his blanket and perhaps a toy or two, a real "kodak moment." You guys have always been a special family to us. We will miss Johnny and we are praying that God's love will comfort you as you walk these moments. We love you guys so much and are sorry we were in Baltimore and could not be there.

Mr. Brown was my fisrt grade teacher at Jonh Marshall in 87. He was one of my favorite teachers. I was so sad to hear his death. My sons also got to know him as principal Brown at MECC. Whenever I went to an event at the school he pointed me out as one of his former students. I will miss his warm smile and hello. I wish his family the best at this hard time.

I had the privilege of working with Johnnie last year at MECC. He was a great and compassionate man,always smiling and so full of life and energy. I have many pleasant memories, including the neighborhood tour that Johnnie conducted for all new teachers because he cared so much about the children. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, adults and children alike. Although I was unable to be with you all on Saturday, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

My heart is heavy with sorrow. Johnnie was and is one of the greatest men I've known. From the age of 6 to 17 I spent a great deal time at the Boys Club on Jefferson Ave. Johnnie was a role model for all the boys there. He was Smart, fair, funny, and you always felt he cared about you and your well being. I believe he is part of the reason I am the man I am today. He will be missed more than words can express. Godspeed Johnnie.
