NICHOLSON, JOHNNIE J. - of Egg Harbor (formerly of Elwood), departed this earthly life and went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family onMonday, November 28, 2005. Johnnie was born on July 4, 1919 in (Seaboard) Northampton County, NC to the late John and Sallie Lassiter. She received her education through the Northampton County Public Schools. In 1939, Johnnie moved to Philadelphia, PA to live with her Aunt Willie and late Uncle Walter Lassiter. Shortly after moving to Philadelphia, she met her husband of 65 years, Albert, while working in a restaurant as a waitress. They were joined in marriage on June 2, 1940 and resided in Philadelphia until moving to Washington, DC in 1949. In 1976 they relocated to Elwood. Johnnie held many domestic jobs in her earlier part of life. In her later years, she worked as a store associate at Jamesway in Hammonton, and then as a pantry worker at Resorts Hotel/ Casino in Atlantic City. Johnnie enjoyed most her family and being a housewife and homemaker.
