Johnnie Wayne Shifflett

Johnnie Wayne Shifflett, 61, of Dyke, died on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

He was born on January 2, 1950, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to the late Robert and Ruby Shifflett.

He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Dickerson and her husband, Keith, of Charlottesville; and three grandchildren, Cody Haislip, Ali Haislip and Alyssa Dickerson.

Additional survivors include his siblings, Ronnie Shifflett and his wife, Mary, James Shifflett and his wife, Vernell, David Shifflett and his wife, Shelia, Jeff Shifflett and his wife, Tammy, and Joyce Woodward and her husband, Wayne; and a special aunt, Hazel Scott, "thanks for calling every night".

Johnnie will also be missed by his very special friends, Sandy, Debbie, Larry, Merle and numerous others.

A special thanks especially to Tony and Joyce Shipp.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Johnnie W. Shifflett Jr.; and a brother, Ronald J. Shifflett

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968 with the Reverend C.C. Kurtz officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
