I had a brief chat with Jonny Ray after the subdudes show in Albany, telling him of my appreciation of the song he wrote "He's Got You on His Mind", and the significance it held for the subdudes as it led to their recoding contract - that it was a pleasure for me to see it performed with him playing and backing up Tommy on vocals. It is a shock, but I have got you on my mind.

You were the most generous boss/friend I have ever known. I cannot count the number of times you helped me and my family; not just with materialistic things but the talks we would have. You are an original Johnny I will always remember you and will miss you dearly. My deepest regards to your family I know they mean the world to you. Till we meet again my friend.

Johnny, may you rest in the peace of the Lord. Thank you for the music, the friendship in Fort Collins, the lessons we both learned together and for helping me find my way over a bowl of Eddie's Killer Reds and Rice. Saw the band last night and you were missed.
