Age 92, was called home to the Lord on August 14th, 2024. Johnny was born on February 17th, 1932 in West Helena, AR. After his Military Service (ARMY), Johnny enrolled in and completed his studies at Mississippi Industrial College. After a successful stint working for the US Post Office, he fulfilled his desire to become a teacher where he excelled by educating thousands of students during his 30+ year career. Johnny was also a standout in the sport of golf. During his semi-professional career as a golfer, he won many local and national professional and senior professional tournaments.

Johnny is survived by his daughter, Giselle; son, Jonathan (Nina); granddaughter, Jessica; grandson, Troy; brother, Calvin; brother Joe-Willie; Nephew, Alfred and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends and family.

Johnny was proceeded in death by his wife, Jeannette Barrow; son, Johnny Barrow Jr; father Washington Barrow; mother, Beula Edmond; brother, F.D. Barrow; sister, Ora Lee Barrow; brother, Henry Barrow; brother, Washington Barrow; brother, Melvin Barrow; sister, Betty J. Barrow; and Ida J. Barrow.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 23rd, 10:30AM at Unity Funeral Parlors, 4114 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL, 60653. For more info, (773) 624-2703.
