Not sure what to say?

Johnny, Sorry that I wasn't able to be at your "Farewell Party" (the song by Gene Watson released in 1979 that you always loved). We drove by the gravesite before and after the services. Liked the tree, it will be nice in the summer with all the birds, ducks, and geese wandering around everywhere. I know how much you wanted to be outside more. I'm so glad that I got to talk to you on the day that God decided to wrap His loving arms around you and carry you away from being sick and lonely to...

My prayers are with your family . I know they will miss you very much as I will . You did several jobs for me and I remember you gave even the worst people you had to deal with the RESPECT they deserved because you had a soft and caring heart. You had a speical gift and it will so missed by me and so many others . You left your mark on this world and made a difference . So sorry your life was cut short . But I know you are still with us all , and will always be remembered .

You will be missed. We love you.

Johnny, since your services are "private" let me take this moment to think back to all of those sleepless nights at the Board of Education in the late 70's. Whenever I open a can of potted meat, I always think of you and our 2AM "supper" or did we call it breakfast?

There is no higher compliment that can be bestowed on someone that is any better than a simple statement, "You were my friend."
