Cox Collins Funeral Home - Mullins Obituary

Mr. Johnny Coke Johnson, 86, of Mullins, passed away following a brief illness while at the Carlyle Senior Care of Fork, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Mr. Johnny was born in Dillon County, South Carolina, on April 16, 1939, a son of the late Coke Johnson and the late Flora Mae Register Johnson Hamilton. Johnny was a Truck Driver and had crisscrossed the nation delivering goods from coast to coast, up and down interstates. He enjoyed being on the road and seeing many sights and meeting people along the way. Johnny rode the road until he saw enough and retired to go full-time into his favorite hobby of fishing. Johnny loved to cast line and lure wherever he could to see what nibble he could get, but his absolute favorite place to fish was Santee. He would pack up and head down I-95 any given chance. Johnny was a loving father and grandfather, taking huge pride and joy in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved people and always had a quick quip or little joke to make them smile.

Surviving Johnny are his children: his daughter, Sharon Bueno of Mullins; his son, Johnny C. Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Mullins; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Johnson and Ronnie (Cindy) Johnson; a sister, Joyce Bryant; and a sister-in-law, Abby Johnson.

Johnny was predeceased by his brother, Billy Johnson, a sister-in-law, Debbie Johnson, and a brother-in-law, Malcolm Bryant.

No services for Mr. Johnson are planned at this time, however, there is a guestbook available on our website, or you can post to our Facebook page for the family to see.
