Johnny "Lam" Jones won an Olympic gold medal in the 4x100 relay at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. A star wide receiver at the University of Texas, he went on to play in the NFL for the New York Jets. For full obituary and coverage from, click here.

I just found out about the passing of Johnny. Prior to moving to lampassas to stay with his grandmother there Johnny his mom and two sisters lived in Lawton Oklahoma and was me and my familys neighbors in Ranch Oaks edition. My family send's condolences at Johnny's passing to the family of Johnny Wesley (Lam) Jones !
