Johnny Lingo, 58, of Gilbert, AZ passed away 6/23/08 at his home after a 7 month battle with cancer. He was born 8/16/1949 in a barn in Eloy, AZ and grew up on various farms in the southern Arizona area. He served in the army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 and was proud to be known as an Arizona Desert Rat. In 1978 John started Sunshine Pest Control which was the perfect business for him because he loved being outdoors, working hard and talking. He always said he had the best clients in the world because they were friends instead of just customers. John never met a stranger his entire life and would talk to anyone, smiling as he did so. John's passions in life were his family, friends, fishing and farming. If we know John, he is sitting on a pontoon boat, a fishing pole in hand, talking with his old buddy Al. His family would like to thank the many friends and neighbors who called and stopped by to visit with John, even when he lost his voice. John is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kim; daughters Serena and Sierra; and son J.D. Private services held 6/26/08. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley. Arrangements handled by Angels Cremation and Burial. Sign the Guest Book at eastvalleytribune.com

Not sure what to say?

John was our next door neighbor, our friend and a great guy. He was aways upbeat, willing to help and could tell the best stories. We will miss him!
He has a great family and our caring thoughts and sympathies go out to them. John, just know we are here to help your family in any way for the long term.
Oh and say "Hi" to Al for us when you see him.

My thoughts & prayers are with you, John's family. I have known him since we lived in Casa Grande & not only did I know John & always enjoy his visits(didn't consider that he was just coming over to spray!!) but felt I knew his family, he was always so proud to share what was going on & I was always aware of just how much love he felt for you...He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten...how could you forget that smile?
