Miller and Miller Funeral Home - Hugo Obituary

Johnny Carl Mock was born May 31, 1934 in Boswell, OK on Unger Road the son of John Franklin Mock and Lola "Skeet" (Higginbottam) Mock. He married Patricia Ann Holloway on October 28, 1960 near Edmond, OK. Johnny loved the Lord and the Lord loved him by guiding him though the journey of life. His family, children, grandchildren and friends followed. He was an outdoorsman by heart which included hunting, fishing, gardening, mowing, chopping and splitting wood. He was the type of person that would help any one in need. Johnny helped out many single women working at the police department as a part time mechanic, he made sure their car was fixed correctly for as little cost as possible. Johnny was an honest hard working man that would do anything he could to help someone in need. During his life he performed many jobs. He served our country in the US Army as a Helicopter Mechanic Crew Chief and worked on a Dairy Farm. Serving the public as a police officer was the job he enjoyed the most, he worked at the Plano Police Department from 1968 until April 30, 1996 where he retired as a Lieutenant and had a lot of friends and family there. Many of his fellow officers loved and respected him and he is still a legend when talked about the great job he did there for the City of Plano. He believed that taking care of family and friends was the most important job he had and he took that job very serious. Johnny could talk to anybody no matter what age or race. While on the police force he would bring home troubled kids and mentor them while trying to get them on the right path. When you think about Johnny you think hard worker, a little stubborn and honesty. He is someone you could trust to the end and he liked to pick on people, he did that to show how much he loved you. Johnny will be missed tremendously and his presence will always be with us. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Gloria Mock and brothers, Jim Mock and Chock Mock. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: his wife, Ann Mock; three daughters: Carol Jean Mock of Boswell, OK, Kay Carpenter & husband Robbie of Van Alstyne, TX and Becky Mock Vaughn and boy friend, Sam Hayworth of Van Alstyne, TX; a brother, Dub Mock of Boswell, OK; four grandchildren: Waylon Ward, John Cody Vaughn, Lindsay Nicole Carpenter and Dustin Hunter Cooksey along with a host of other friends and family.

Not sure what to say?

I just learned about Johnny's passing thanks to Becky sharing on Facebook a week ago. I am sorry that I did not get to see him again. He was a very amazing man. He was like a second Dad to me. His selflessness was amazing and new to me. He instilled his and Ann's values in his girls who helped me become a better person. I will miss him terribly. God has an incredible Angel!
