Not sure what to say?

Jon was my professor at the Cooperstown Consevation Program in the early 70's. I was fresh out of college and quite "green behind the ears." He had a great sense of humor and after lectures on the invisible and theoretical aspects of chemistry, kept reaching to to teach us the finer points of science that brought it to life in a tangible way--like how to rewire a three way light switch in an apartment lamp so I could do my homework at night! He lived in an apartment building across the street...

Jon and I were best of friends in high school. We enjoyed hunting and fishing together, played football (I was left tackle), and even double dated. We lost track of one another through the years, but have been in phone and e-mail contact the last couple of years. He will be missed by many

In 1973/4, Jon taught the science courses in the Cooperstown Graduate Program in Art Conservation, State College at Oneonta, while on a year's leave from the Smithsonian. I was one of his students and remember him fondly both as a fine teacher and wonderfully warm and outgoing person. Although, aside from briefly in the late 1990s, I have not been in touch with him since, I still recall him with respect and affection. I am saddened by his passing and offer my sincere condolences to his sons...

Jon and I were classmateS at MOORHEAD HIGH SCHOOL(1953).I was center and he was the guard right next to me on our championship football team. It was a great team!
We've been in NY since 1972, too bad I didn't know you were in our backyard! Oddly enough I was stationed in Arlington and I have to children working now in DC.
Jon was smart and had a good sense of humor, Didn't surprise anyof us when he succeeded so well at Yale.
My condolences to the family!

Dear Serio and Eklund families:
We were close friends of Anne's when she was at the Buffalo & E.C. Hist. Soc. We kept in touch throughout her life, occasionally meeting both of them in D.C. and in Ont. Jon must have been broken-hearted to lose her.
Our condolescenes to all of you. Wilma & Walter Bertling
