I never met Jon but many of my friends in Australian theatre considered him to be a good and close friend. I remember him as the man who tried (and succeeded in) making Shakespeare hip...and current. He was 'the cutting edge'of Oz theatre...and although a cliche'...we will not see his like again... Vale Jon Ewing.
