Jon Edward Hansen

Marilyn, This is Linda Jernigan (Lathon's widow) from UNI, Cedar Falls. I recently saw Jon's obituary in the Courier. I just want you to know that I am thinking about you and understand what you are going through. I experienced Lathon's death in 2021. I am sorry that we did not have a chance to see you and Jon over the past few years. So sorry to see this posted. My husband, Bill Zaputil retired from UNI working security. He probably knew Jon, as Bill was into music also. I started a scholarship in his name also in the music education at UNI. It is very rewarding for me to know there are students who are able to pursue a music career . Bill died in 2002. Marilyn It is with great sorrow that I learned of Jon's death. A lifelong friend who started school together at Irving. He was older than me by but 2 weeks. We played instruments, went on the Harley at speeds exceeding sound while in high school and then later both you and he ended up in my practice in Waterloo. He was a wonderful musician and a great person. We shall all miss him remembering him with love. Tom Spragg
