And, this gentleman, passed away on my birthday.

I purchased this gentleman´s book from an online retailer with the express intentions of completing my Tolkien collection. When I saw the embossed seal and his signature upon the flyleaf, I immediately looked his name up and saw his obituary from eight years ago. (My most humble sympathies) The resemblance to my own paternal grandfather was so striking, it brought me to tears. I am proud to own a piece of his private book collection. Norma and I just received notice of John's passing.John and Jan were our great friends and his warm manner will be sorely missed. Jan and his family are forever in our prayers.

Jon F Lafaver went to school with me and was my attorney. He was a wonderful man and friend. My prayers go out to his family. He was a great man. I will always remember him. God Bless

I'm so sorry to hear of Jon's passing. Mom told me this weekend. I always enjoyed living nearby and was privileged to get to know him as both a neighbor and my friend's grandfather. He was a truly wonderful man. You all have my deepest sympathies.
