Not sure what to say?

I just heard. Our 1976 Park Hill KCMO high school class has lost one of its favorite team captains and drummers. I last saw Jon at the 20 yr reunion and he was jovial to all. My brother and I have been gone a long time in the Navy or Boeing, rarely returning to KC. Some people are the reason we remembered where home is. Anyone who met him will remember Jon. From Navy T-34B safety standowns stories, I knew Kirk and Jane were in Dallas area with Jon. His time together with an extended...

I was both shocked and sadden when I heard the news about Jon. High school friends are "forever" friends. My mom just told me last night of a funny story about Jon when she saw him walking home from football practice and she picked him up and drove him home. Memories came flooding back when I saw Jon's high school graduation picture. It truely seems like yesterday. To all the Lewis Family, our deepest sympathy.

I am so very, very sorry!
Lee Allan Smith's wife was my college room mate. She is fighting cancer at MD Anderson now.

So very sorry to hear about "JonnyLew", but I rejoice with his family and friends for his life. I don't ever recall him without a smile. I just heard about Jon today from Kevin Kirkpatrick and will pass the news along to some old friends here at Hillside Christian Church in Kansas City.

My thoughts, prayers, and heart goes out at this time for the entire Lewis and Rimer families. As a high school friend, it's hard to believe time passes so quickly. Remain strong in your faith and know that lives have been changed just by knowing Jon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lewis and Rimer families. It has been a lot of years since our paths have crossed, but like many other of my DU brothers, Jon made a significant impact in my life. Everybody enjoyed his company and humor. I can still picture him lip singing Earth Wind and Fire to perfection. It sounds as if had not changed to much over the years or even through his illness. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

My condolences to the entire family. Ben and Samantha, your dad will always be with you. Just remember what he taught and shared with you. I know Stanton Chase misses him.

I just heard about Jon's passing today. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Our sympathy's go out to the Lewis family.

We had some great times playing football at Park Hill. I still laugh when I remember how he was the only person I know that could put his football helmet on sideways and look out the ear-hole.

Jon always took a genuine interest in you and you could always have a great laugh together. He was a terrific person and I am glad that I knew him.

The Lewis family has always meant more to me than they probably realize. I embrace the love, joy, and humor that one experiences in their presence. The strong bond of love, friendship and support in their family drew me in. Jon definitely was at the center and forefront of all the action. I am so thankful to have known him...didn't see him much after the college years and am sad that I won't have that chance again here on this earth.
