Not sure what to say?

My dad grew up with Terry in Guthrie and, even though I was a girl, I was named after him. Wish I had known him better before I left for Texas!

The very mention of Terry McGrew's name brings a smile to another old jock's face.
We might not have worked the same air-chair, but our minds worked the same frequency.
God's station now has an excellent personality on afternoons or evenings. See you soon brother!

Terry McGrew 1960

I had the great honor and pleasure of working with Terry McGrew at KFNB in Oklahoma City after he had left WKY. He was a friend and mentor. Unlike so many in the business, Terry was not self-important and did not have any big ego problem. He was a kind and peace-loving man and dearly cherished his privacy. He was a fabulous radio announcer and personality and a joy o work with. Although I've not seen Terry for many, many years, his positive influence still affects me to this day -- as I'm...

I'm not a jock, just a friendly listener! In 1965, I was......all of 12 years old, thinking I was about 20! I went to OK.C. to visit friends. I was already listening to KOMA and WKY practically all the time over the Tulsa stations. When I went to visit The City, I inundated the Goose-Berry show with calls just about every night, so I figure they got REEEEEEALLY tired of me!! Of course, I also heard Mr. McGrew on other stations and always listened whenever possible.
Thoughts and prayers...

Terry was one of the best jocks ever and many of us were fortunate to learn from him. God Bless "Terryberry". Consolations towards all his friends and family.

I Was also raised in Guthrie, and started in radio after Terry, so I was always trying to be as good as he was on the air. I knew him well, But never did work at the same station with him. As close as I ever came was when I worked at KOMA, But as great as that was, it was not WKY and I never did become as good as Terry, But he made me want to try to be. Radio will never be the same without him.
God bless you my old friend.

I just read of Terry's passing. So very sorry to hear. I grew up in Guthrie, Oklahoma and worked with Terry at the Guthrie radio station with him for a few years in the late 50's. I remember him as a great person and a great teacher. I learned a lot about radio from Terry. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
