Not sure what to say?

One of my favorite memories of Jon is him sitting on the Nelda K. Balch Playhouse stage, happily playing on one (of his many) electric guitars after a performance of Tommy, which he directed. Unlike me, he was not afraid to show this musician guitar-playing side of his personality in front of students at Kalamazoo College. I truly wish now that I'd played with Jon at least once! To all of Jon's family: remembering him well this time of year. Best, ed menta

I was one of Jon´s tech kids from Civic, and his gruff but straightforward belief that I could do anything if I just worked at it was fundamental to my development as a person and artist. I still remember his stage combat lessons, 35+ years on. It was an honor to know Jon and to have been taught by him. I wish his family peace.

I remember Jon from South Street Cigar. He was funny, wry, and a hell of an artist. I'm sorry this has happened, and I'm thinking of his family, both blood and community.

I came across the article about Jon while reading MLIVE online. I never knew Jon....but now I wish I would have. What a beautiful soul. I am sharing his story with my kids as an example of a life well lived. The world needs more people like Jon. He probably won´t receive the accolades and fanfare he deserves because the world we live in values the wrong things. It sounds like Jon knew to his core what matters most. Blessings to all who love him.

Jon Reeves was, without question, the best Technical Director I ever worked with in my 40+ years of directing plays in college theatre. The set was ALWAYS ready, in fact, it was usually early. From Jon, I learned the best theatre aesthetic to teach students: "Come to the theatre and do your job." But some of my favorite memories working with him at Kalamazoo College were just talking music and movies (especially old bad horror films). I own 7 guitars and 3 of them came from Jon so I will...
