Stegen, Jon Christopher, 34, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Friday, December 14, 2012.

Loving husband of Jessica Stegen (nee Jennings); dear father of Tyler and Audrey; beloved son of Marcia and Richard Stegen; brother of Heather (Joe) Poropat; uncle of Madeline and Delaney; son-in-law of Jay and Margaret Jennings; godson, nephew, cousin and friend to many.

He was an active leader, mentor and athlete throughout his life. He attended Sts. John and James Grade School, was a proud SLUH Jr. Billikin (class of 1997) earned his BA at Truman (2002) and Masters at UMSL (2006). He excelled as a Senior Account Executive at Express Scripts and truly enjoyed his role as a valued teammate. His quiet strength, light hearted humor, wry smile and bright blue eyes, fierce competitive nature, compassion and thoughtfulness will forever be engraved on our hearts.

Services: Funeral Mass at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Ellisville, Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jon Stegen Family Fund, 165 N. Meramec Ave., Suite 110, St. Louis, MO 63105 or Annie's Hope Bereavement Center. Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Rd at Holloway, Ballwin, Monday 2-8 p.m. Friends may sign the familys on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.

May your family find comfort in the hope that “the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus] voice and come out…to a resurrection of life.” (John 5:28, 29) We have nothing but fond memories of Jon and the entire Stegen Family. Mary Kay informed me of the devastating news yesterday. Words can not express my sadness of your loss. Heaven has a new star.

I will always remember Jon Stegen as a wonderful, funny, delightful person. My heart goes out to Jess and the family. I'll always remember Jon's kindness.
