Thinking of the whole Wooley family after the loss of "Mr. Wooley". I have so many great memories of family visits with your family and always thought Mr. Wooley was such a gentleman with quiet wit. He was so kind and soft spoken and your home had that "warm fuzzy" feeling we all strive for. I know he was also a great professional and teacher and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A long time friend who like members of the Gray family loved the stars. My family met Jon and his family when he was in graduate school at the University of Michigan. We were students in grad school also. He and his family always welcomed us in their home, and they stopped to visit us once when they were passing through Ontario - that was a treat.

I had Professor Wooley teach the astronomy classes I took at Eastern Michigan in the early 80's. He was always one of my favorites and one of the professors I respected the most there. What a wonderful person he was!

Jon was a lifelong friend and classmate from the Charlotte class of 1956. As a teen-age amateur astronomer he ground his own mirror for a large reflecting telescope that his father helped him install at their cottage at Duck Lake, south of Charlotte. I saw the rings of Saturn through Jon's telescope for the first time in my life - about 1954. We enjoyed a lasting relationship that will be greatly missed.

I remember Jon fondly from a variety of League of Women Voters events as well as University of Michigan events. His wit and knowledge were valued. Condolences to Susan and the family.

I am so glad I got to meet Jon at a League of Women voters Lunch and Learn. He was intelligent, pleasant and so interested in our speaker. His inquisitiveness added perspective to the event. I'm sure his present has added a perspective on life to everyone's.
