Jonathan Zane Adams

Zane was born December 26, 1923 at Elkton, Oregon to Bertram S. and Edith I. (Haines) Adams. He graduated from the Elkton Union High School, attended The Eugene Vocational School and worked briefly for the Boeing Aircraft Company and the Spokane Air Depot before entering the USAF in 1943. The war years were spent in England to be followed with later assignments in Germany and Southeast Asia, spending a total of over 10 years overseas. After working as an Aircraft Mechanic, a Flight Engineer and an Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent he retired in the late 60s.After returning from the Air Force he worked as a foreman for Willamette Industries and was injured in an industrial accident resulting in paraplegia. He then attended COCC receiving an Associates Degree in Accounting and has done volunteer tax work through the AARP Program for many years. He was also active in the Bend Trap Club and was Sec/Treas, of the Oregon State Trapshooting Association for a number of years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Masonic Lodge. He married Frankie G. Brown in Fr. Worth, Texas on May 1, 1948. She preceded him death as did his 3 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by a daughter, Judy G. Daniel and a son, Daryl Z. Adam. Also surviving are his grand children, Amy, Rochelle, Sarah, Laura, and great-grand children Jake, Baylee, Kason, Sydney, Allie and David. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the Hope United Methodist Church, Drain, OR.
