Not sure what to say?

My condolences to Jon's entire family, especially to Renee. She and I shared a suite at Brandeis, and I knew Jon through her. They were an adorable couple in college. I am not surprised that Jon became an advocate for those in need or that he was appointed to the bench. I work as an attorney for a justice of the California Supreme Court, and I wish I had stayed in touch with Jon post college. I am certain we would have had a lot of common experiences to share. Renee, I am saddened by...

Jon was my lawyer at a critical time in my life when I needed an advocate and friend. Jon was both and with his help, as with soi many, my life and those I care about got better. It was Paul Chernoff who referred me to Jon.

There was an immediate connection: Paul's mentally disabied son David, Jon's mentally disabled brother Saul, my mentally disabled sister Laura and Jon's great works on behalf of the mentally disabled.

Jon lived a shinning example of "Tikun Olam". He...

The Back Alley Puppet Theater wishes to express our condolences to Renee, Simone and Justin. We first met Jon and family on Simone’s 10th birthday on New Year’s Eve when the party activity consisted of the family and Simone’s friends participating in the First Night Procession of Giant Puppets. After that year, Jon and family or some constellation thereof helped us organize the parade until last year. Each year when we looked at the volunteer list of “Puppet Captains” we were always...

Dear Renee,

So saddened to learn of Jon's passing. I have been a long-time admirer of his devotion and accomplishments and I am very sorry we have lost him so young.
My heart goes out to you.
(Former Rep. Susan Schur)

My condolences to the truly Honorable Judge Brandt's loved ones. Jonathan and I co-authored an ABA article when he was my law school professor. Professor Brandt was not only scholarly and just, he was exceptionally supportive. I am blessed to have had him as a teacher and mentor.

My condolences to Judge Brant's family for their loss. Judge Brant presided over many of my cases in District Court. While he did not always see cases my way, his intense and intelligent approach served justice and the Commonwealth well.

As a son of a former judge and someone who has appeared before the Honorable Judge Brant on many occasions, I cannot think of anyone who conducted himself with more dignity and grace than Judge Brant. He treated everyone in his courtroom, lawyers, clients and the public with the utmost sincerity and polite demeanor. He was a model for how a judge should conduct himself from the bench. My sincere condolences.

Jon was such a dear man. I never left his presence without feeling that I'd been given a gift. Linda and I send our sincere condolences.

Dear Renee, Simone & Justin, Barry and I are deeply saddened to learn of Jonathan's passing. Some of our fondest memories of when Wendy & Simone were young is of the girls' basketball team Jonathan and Barry co-coached in 1988. He was a wonderful, special guy, and the world is a dimmer place without him. We will keep Jonathan and you all in our thoughts and prayers. With sympathy, Barry & Kathy Devaney Goldstein
