Not sure what to say?

Professor Bulkley was my doctoral advisor, boss and mentor. He dispensed wisdom and encouragement. May his memory be a blessing to his family and all who had the good fortune to be his students.

Jonathan and I were Phi Beta Epsilon fraternity brothers at MIT, he a year my senior. Although more than a half century has passed since those days when I last saw Jonathan, I remember him clearly with both deepest respect and affection. Over my 80 years I have known no kinder and more supportive person than Jonathan. A wonderful man and gentleman of the old school, he was both a faithful friend and a role model who made my years at Tech particularly rewarding. Though we have not been in...

Bob Barden paired with Jonathan.

What a pleasure to get to know Jonathan during his Kiwanis years. I think he thoroughly enjoyed the club and I recall many a conversation in the furniture department in the damp basement of the Kiwanis Activities Center downtown. We discovered we each possessed an interest in the Civil War. Naturally, he was much more learned than I. But no matter, he was a Kiwanian just like all the rest of us in performing charitable work to leave the earth a better place than we found it. Praise God!

Dear Trudy, I think the last time we met was when you and Jonathan came over to our home in Brighton. Time has passed so quickly... What will not pass or fade is my fond memories of working with Jonathan over the years. His mentorship early in my career, his sponsorship of my professorship in SNRE/SEAS, our chats on green infrastructure, and just sharing life experiences. He always asked about the family, did the mouse-in-handkerchief for Sven (our now 22 year old), and warned me of...

It was a pleasure to work with Professor Bulkley at SNRE. Mr. Bulkley was a lovely man with a peaceful spirit. May he rest in peace.

I was fortunate to be a student at the University of Michigan SNRE's Center for Sustainable Systems and have the opportunity to get to know Dr. Bulkley a bit during my time there. His many contributions to the school and center touched the lives of many students, myself included. He will be missed.

Not many people knew more about water and sustainability than Professor Bulkley. I had the good fortune of working with him at U-M and he was one of the nicest and classiest people you could meet. Jonathan always took time to stop and chat, while wearing a smile and one of his famous bow ties. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. You will be missed by many!

What a super nice, polite and intelligent guy. He was a customer of mine at Firestone and was just a pleasure to deal with. This is a true loss for our City.
