I met Dr. Drummond-Webb while working as an ICU nurse at the Cleveland Clinic. He was a kind man who cared deeply about his patients. He made himself very accessible to the nursing staff and interacted directly with us to care for his patients, which not all staff doctors do. He accomplished some amazing feats in surgery, that is for sure. His death came as such a surprise at the time. He was a great loss to the medical community. I met Dr Drummond Webb at ACH here in Little Rock in 2002. I had just given birth 3 months prior to my beautiful baby boy. We had spent a lot of days in and out of the ER, but no one was able to tell me what was wrong with my son. Being a new mom, I was told his behaviors were "normal". So on our last trip to the ER, we were once again being told that they saw nothing wrong with my baby. I remember seeing this doctor walked pass our room. February is national heart defect month. Dr Drummond-Webb and his family, will always be a part of our family. He saved our son's life at the Cleveland clinic, shortly before moving on to another hospital.
