Jonathan William Edwards

I played football and went to Grant High with Jay. He was the leader of our high school class. He always had a quick smile and a quick wit. He will be missed.

We so appreciated the many visits Jay made to see Wayne. He shared memories of their time at Grant High and the years that followed. He was a special friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine and family.

Jay and I were great friends at Stanford and although our contact diminished my memories of that friendship did not. As I read the tribute, I recognize my old friend. I will not forget him. I can only offer my deepest condolences to his family.

Jay was my debating partner at Grant Hi and an end on our State Chanpionship football team. He always had a kind word and a twinkle in his eye at Grant reunions and get together luncheons. He was the heart of our graduating class and will be sorely missed by his old classmates.

I worked with Jay at adidas America in the early years of the transition. At the time i did not realize what i was learning from him that i will carry with me all my life. He was truly one of those once in a lifetime people you meet, and only realize when it's too late.

Jay was not a fair weather friend. He was the real deal.

Jay was one of the Nike leaders who I admired and looked up to.

Jay did indeed leave us way too early, but he leaves me with so many great memories.Afternoon lunches which we solved all the world's problems in a matter of hours,golf outings,sporting events, lake visits, e-mail exchanges and many more. Jay was a master conversationalist, wonderful sense of humor, and could always make me or anyone else laugh outloud.He had more friends and acquaintances then any person I know. I new Jay through Skamania Lodge Golf Course where he volunteered. I never talked to him when he didn't have his always present grin. Considering all his professional & life accomplishments, he was the most unassuming person I've ever encountered. It was always a joy to be around him.
