Jonathan S. Emerick
Age 66, of Kensington, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 in Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. He was born Feb. 12, 1948 in Salamanca, NY to the late Clair and Irene (Brown) Emerick. He worked in maintenance at the Minerva YMCA and had worked in plumbing and heating for many years. He graduated from Greenfield High School and received a Bachelor's in Science from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC. He was then was drafted into the US Army and served during the Vietnam War from 1970-1972. He was a Presbyterian by faith and was a former member of the Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept.
He is survived by his wife of 37 ½ years, Karen (Crawford) Emerick whom he married July 16, 1977, sister, Anita (Wayne) South of Hope, NJ and brother, Tim (Jackie) Emerick of Greenfield. He is preceded in death by his parents, identical twin brother, Mark Emerick and a brother, Alan Emerick.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating. Calling hours will be Saturday 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to your local hospice.
