Jonathan Girma, 57, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston, from complications of Covid-19.
He leaves his wife of 31 years, Katherine J. (Nason) Girma; two children: Adam J. and Leah E. Girma, both of Clinton; his parents, Girma Lemma and Tewabech Aklog, of Ethiopia; two brothers: Dawit Girma and his wife, Melissa, of PA, and Getahun Girma and his wife, Samrawit Getamessay, of Ethiopia; two sisters: Senait Girma of Lowell, and Fana Girma Brown, and her husband, Lamarcus Brown, of TX; his father-and-mother-in-law, Gary and Carolyn Nason, of Brunswick, ME; a sister-in-law, Penny Nason Simpson, and her husband, Daniel, of MI; nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Ethiopia, Jonathan immigrated to the United States in 1983, and attended the former Atlantic Union College, South Lancaster. He had been a resident of Clinton for 30 years.
Jonathan worked as a printer for Atlantic Graphics for many years.
A member of the Leominster Seventh-day Adventist Church, he was a talented artist, who could often be found painting, sculpting, and ink drawing. He enjoyed photography, was a WWII history buff, and a New England Patriots fan.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Immediate arrangements are private, and under the care and direction of McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, the Girma family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Leominster Seventh-day Adventist Church, 445 Union St., Leominster, MA 01453.
