Not sure what to say?

I have been saddened by news of Jonathan's death. I was his English teacher at Schreiber High School and wrote recommendations for him to colleges, including Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois (which I graduated from in 1963. His passion for social justice touched me even when he was in high school. He was a lively, wonderful student, always excited about something he had read or heard. I was fortunate to have had a long phone conversation with him a few years ago. He was a fine human...

Having just read Jonathan's story in the NYT's, I grieve the loss of this truly great man. I hope his story is made into a documentary or film someday, so that young people might be inspired to carry on his work and honor his memory.
My condolences to his family.

Jo and I were saddened when we heard of Jonathan's passing. He brought to this world so many attributes. He inspired us to be brave and to do good things. We will always need people like him. He did so much for so many. We are certain that he will be remembered by those who loved him, loved the work he did, and those who he helped. We feel blessed that we knew Jonathan.

Jonathan understood all too well the benefits to our entire society of his dedicated focus on the needs of the deprived and needy among us. We share in his loss.

Jonathan was an inspiration. Beyond his amazing work, he helped show me more clearly the link between lifes work and our spirituality...our world needs more of Jonathan. My heart and prayers to Diane and Benjamin and Michael and Sam...you know more than anyone how special he was...

I'm SO SAD to learn of Jonathan's passing. :-(. He was such an AMAZING HUMAN BEING, a great LEADER, and a PILLAR FOR JUSTICE in New York State. I can only offer my condolences to his family in this form, as I am not healthy enough or strong enough yet to come up to Albany from Brooklyn to attend the funeral this afternoon in person. At 4pm today, I will be bowing my head in prayers for Jonathan and his family to remember him. With Much Love, Respect and Gratitude for a life well-lived,...

It's very saddening to learn of Jon's death, for he was someone I enjoyed talking with and learned from--and certainly would have made an effort to greet & talk with at our college class's 50th reunion, coming up the first weekend in November: Knox College, 1969.

Heartfelt Condolences Arrangement- BASKET INCLUDED

Jonathan was one of the good ones. I worked with him on the furniture program and the social justice committee at St Henry's parish. He had a good sense of humor.
