Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Jonathan "Jonny" Wayne Butler, 68, of Iowa Park passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. A great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend left this world too soon.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

Jonny was born on March 1, 1957 to the late J.W. and Frances (Horn) Butler in Wichita Falls. He was a proud Hirschi graduate of 1975. He married his childhood friend, Bambi Jourdan on March 5, 1977 in Wichita Falls. She was truly the love of his life.

Jonny worked as a plumber in the surrounding area, before retiring. He was an all-sports fanatic and was always cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Jonny liked to enjoy a cold red draw, a good western and was one of the best friends anyone could ever ask for. But his love for his family was his greatest treasure. Especially being "Papa" to all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jonny will be missed by many family and friends.

Along with his parents, Jonny was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Butler; and a brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Crockett.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter Brandi Rollins; grandchildren, Taylor, Lexi, Kara, Chloe and Ryker; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Deborah Crockett, Janice Payton and husband, Larry and Julie Sanders; four nephews, David Payton, Danny Payton and wife, Sylvia, Josh Sanders and wife, Marissa and Matthew Sanders and wife, April; three nieces, Sarah Crockett and Bill, Carla Frazee and husband, Del and Anna McCain and husband, JD; and numerous other loved family members and friends.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.owensandbrumley.com

Not sure what to say?

My deepest heartfelt sympathies are extended to you and your family, Bambi. Please know you are in my prayers for God's comfort in this difficult season.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. He was a great friend that I have known since 1966. Prayers

I worked with Jonny at CertainTeed. He was a great guy. He was a family man and was nice to everyone he worked with. Prayers for Bambi and the family. He will be missed by many. Delores Winter

Peace be with you Bambi and family. I am sorry he has gone too soon. I will never forget his smile! A true Husky.

I first met Butler (I've always called him that) when I was 19 yrs old and my husband, Mike, worked for him at Wichita Valley Water. Always like him, but didn't really get to know him until 15ish years ago.
I thought he should have been an attorney. He would argue until I would give up from exhaustion. :)
The last few years he would always end our conversation with "love you." I knew he meant it. Butler not the type to say that unless he meant it. He knew how much I loved him, Bambi...

Bambi, I am saddened to hear of Jonny’s Passing. I know you are hurting at his death, but please remember where Jonny is now, in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. We will see them again one day and what a day that will be.
I love you Bambi and will Pray for you and Your Family during this difficult time of bereavement.
God Bless.

Had a lot of FUN together in our youth. Jonny was a good Family man. I am very sorry to see this. Prayers to Bambi and Jonny's Family.

Sending love and prayers to you Bambi. I have many fond memories of growing up with you and Jonny. So sorry that he's gone. May God's peace embrace you and all your family.

You will be missed my friend
