My husband was Jonathans platoon sergeant in 1/17 from 98-00.
Today we remember his service and sacrifice.

As I sit here again in this place of dispar.. I think of you.. I would not be who I am today with out your tough love... I never forgot neither will I ever for get the day I was with you when you gave America your all.... Thank you

I served with SFC Lowery during OIF, with C- Battery 1/17th FA, he was a great soldier and also showed me what dip was..He will forever live on!!!

I served with "Gunny" in Mosul and just want to say that he was a great man. Gunny always took the time to stop and have a joke with me, and for some reason he never failed to mention how great of a soldier I was. He was one of my Drill Sergeants at Charlie 1-22 and ended up in my battery in 3-3 ACR at Ft. Hood where we deployed together. I first met Lowery when we were assigned to Bravo Battery, 1-17th FA, Fort Sill Oklahoma in 1996. As Field Artillery men we both went our different ways. The next time I saw Lowery, he was working out at the Rhinehart Fitness Center at Fort Sill. He told me that he was selected for Drill Sergeant duty so he had to get back in the best shape he could.
