~Life Reflections~

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Jonathan Jamaal McCrea, son of Joan McCrea-King and Johnny Skinner, was born on Friday, July 6, 1984, in Georgetown, South Carolina. On Monday, August 3, 2020, Jonathan Jamaal McCrea, transitioned from his earthly life to his eternal life. He was preceded in death by his  maternal grandmother, Blondell McCrea and maternal great-grandmother Irene H. McCrea.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was a member of Matthew Hill Holiness Church in Hemingway, South Carolina. He professed his faith for Jesus Christ and chose to live a life pleasing to God. He continued his spiritual walk and served as a faithful  member, musician, and minister-in-training at Redeeming Life Christian Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

He received his formal education in the public schools of Florence County and was a graduate of Johnsonville High School. For the last twelve years, Jonathan worked for Cardinal Health in   Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was often commended for his integrity and professionalism.  He was selected to represent the company in many ways and received several promotions. He became passionate about videography and photography, so he created Inawe, LLC, a visual media production company.

In his spare time, this self-taught musician loved playing the keyboard and also loved going to the beach. When asked why he always went to the beach, he would reply, “A vacation isn’t a vacation, unless I’m near the water.”

He was united in holy matrimony to Finess Singletary-McCrea on August 28, 2009. With Finess by his side, he dedicated his life to loving his family and God. He believed “many are called, but a few are “chosen”. As a result, he inspired many people. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

His God-fearing life will forever be cherished by his wife, Finess Singletary-McCrea; four children: Ja Demas, Anyla Demas, Jayden McCrea and Journey McCrea; his parents, Joan (John Earl) McCrea-King and Johnny (Dee) Skinner; five siblings: Joanndra Shay McCrea, Jaquanna Lakeyia McCrea, Jeremi (Tempestt) McCrea, Alicia Gilliard and Deandra (Aaron) Bradley; a paternal grandmother, Rena S. Wright; a mother-in-law, Lula (Doeszell) Singletary-McGee; a brother-in-law, Antemo Singletary;  five additional sisters-in-law: Laebony Singletary, Kaeshawna Singletary, Liza Graham, Cynthia Williams and Lillian Walker; one aunt, Lorene (Arthur) Gagum; one uncle, David (Wanda) McCrea; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
