Not sure what to say?

I met Jonathan when he was removing a giant cedar tree from our son’s backyard on July 29, 2020. When I arrived to watch our grandson, Lincoln, for the afternoon, Jonathan was generously bringIng the crew lunch. Linc was glued to the action all day; he loves anything mechanical. Jonathan patiently answered all his questions. Linc had made a parachute and asked if it could be dropped from the top of the tree. After a hot, hard day, Jonathan pulled it up for launching. But it didn’t work. So...

We were saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Jonathan. He was our arborist and trimmed large trees twice in our yard. He was very warm, personable, and professional. He and my husband who had also been a wrestling coach immediately connected. The world lost a good man.

Jonathan was one of my son Jacob’s youth wrestling coaches. It was always so obvious how dedicated he was and how much he cared about the kids he was teaching, He was always patient and kind, and was an amazing example for them to follow. He will be greatly missed!

The Eagle family

I had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan in Portland while on vacation with my family about 6 years ago. What a warm, friendly, down to earth family man! Tina you and the kids were blessed to share your lives with him, and while my heart aches for you guys now, I trust in your strong faith and loving circle of friends near and far to keep you going. God bless you guys. He was quite a man.

I was graced to have known Jonathan as a friend and client. He utterly graced my family and my life with his magnanimous heart for service, his ability to flat out fly through trees, do anything to extend a hand to a person in need with a huge smile, execute the most difficult of jobs with supreme competence. He always brought an infectious smile, absolute optimism and good wishes to each encounter/conversation, frequently rhapsodizing about his love for his family/community. Jonathan...

Jonathan Smith is in my top 10 list of “Most Excellent Humans”. He never hesitated to help me or my clients. I considered him a good fiend despite not ever really knowing him socially. He was just type of man and I respected him so much.

This man showed everyone he met, love and compassion. Thank you Jon. You will forever be missed.

Thank you to all those who’ve prayed for and supported us at the loss of my beautiful husband and father to our five amazing children whom he deeply loved. He will always be our hero. Please keep posting memories and pictures here so we can cherish him always. Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts. Love, Tina, Jessica, Daniel, Elyssa, Alaena, and Sarah.
