Jonathan Kaine Smith, age 7, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 18, 2002. He was born in Little Rock, on July 26, 1995. For his 7th birthday he received a CD Walkman and his first BB Gun. Kaine was a student at Bryant Elementary, and would have been entering the 2nd grade. He attended Heritage Baptist Temple. Kaine was just learning to play baseball and was very good at skateboarding. He played soccer last year for Richard's Honda, and liked to ride his freestyle bike. He also liked to play his Playstation and gameboy. His favorite food was pizza and he had two pets, a Siamese cat "Ram" and an Akita puppy "King." Kaine's first grade teacher, Ms. Iris Adams, got to experience Kaine to the fullest and they both loved each other. He was a good student and was on the A-B Honor Roll. The highlight of his summer was a fishing trip with his dad to the Cabot Hatchery. Kaine caught three 12 lb. Catfish. He helped clean and cook them, and expected his family to eat them, but he wouldn't. He was very proud of the fish he'd caught. He also enjoyed playing with his brother and sister. Kaine was proceeded in death by his great grandmother, Muriel Kay Davidson. Survivors include his loving parents, Danna Smith and Chuck Dill of Alexander; his 8 year old sister, Cheyenne Martin, and 2 ½ year old brother, Cole Dill, both of Alexander; grandparents Penny & Bill Burch of Alexander, Reba Sanders of Little Rock, and Judy Berry of Haskell; cousins Walker and Rider Darden, Josh Briggs, Kailey Harrington, and Abbey Smith, along with numerous other cousins, aunts, and uncles. A graveside celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at 4:00pm at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Cemetery. A visitation time for everyone to come and write notes and decorate Kaine's casket with markers will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, at Griffin Leggett-Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, 455- 1067. Danna,

I just wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I did not know about the funeral until I read the paper this afternoon or I would have been at Kaine's service. Even though my heart is sad and grieving, it is comforting to know that Kaine is with our Lord Jesus Christ. Please tell Cheyenne that I'm thinking about her also. It is my prayer that you find comfort and peace through Jesus in this difficult time.

I know I didn't know him that well, but what I did know of him will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with you in this time of sorrow.

You don't know me but when I read little Jonathan in the paper this afternoon I cried for his Mother. I don't know why,I have 3 sons and never have lost one but God would really need to be with me if I ever had to. All the words and all the prayers couldn't mend a mothers broken heart. I do mean to all of his family hope God will see you through your sadness. I know you like for your baby to be with you but he is Gods hands and he will always be safe and loved. My heart goes out to you. from...
